- Full-Sun
Description
Globe-shaped fruits with thick, sweet flesh. Can grow to eight pounds. Will keep for several months in a cool, dry area. A favorite for canning and baking.
Plant in full sun or partial shade in rich soil for best growth. Start outside about two weeks after last frost or indoors two weeks before last frost date for transplants. Feed monthly with side dressings of compost or vegetable food for largest pumpkins. Pumpkins can be harvested after their rinds are hard and their skins have turned orange. Leave 3-4 inches of stem on the fruit to improve storage.
