Lactuca, Lettuce 'Salad Bowl Green' Value Pack
- Sun Preference
- Full-Sun, Part-Sun
Description
This farm-stand favorite features large, notched, lime green leaves that hold sweet flavor in hot weather. Rapid grower, slow to bolt. Salad Bowl Green is a leaf type lettuce that does not form a head. It won an All America Selections Gold Medal in 1952.
Lettuce prefers cool weather. Select a location with full sun or partial shade in hot areas. Sow in early spring or fall/winter in mild climates. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth. Thin regularly – lettuce does not like to be crowded. Plant a few feet every 2 – 3 weeks for continuous harvest. Save space by interplanting with later yield crops like beans, squash or tomatoes.
Lactuca sativa
