Description
These giants can weigh in at 100 lbs. Attractive round shape and bright orange, smooth skin makes it fun to carve. To reach maximum size, allow four months for growth and allow only one pumpkin per vine.
Big Max needs a long warm season to reach full size. Plant in full sun or partial shade in rich soil for best growth. Start outside about two weeks after last frost or indoors two weeks before last frost date for transplants. Feed monthly with side dressings of compost or vegetable food for largest pumpkins. For giant pumpkins prune to one per vine. Set young fruits upright for best shape.
