Brassica, Pak Choi/Bok Choy 'White Stem' Heirloom
- Sun Preference
- Part-Sun
Description
Pak choi, also called bok choi or bok choy, is a staple in Asian cuisine. It grows quickly and easily into a small plant resembling Swiss chard. The sweet, crisp stems are enjoyed fresh and cooked.
Pak choi grows best in fertile soil with plenty of moisture for quick growth. In mild climates, plant in fall for winter harvest. In cold climates, start in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked and again in late summer for fall crops. Remove side stems as needed, or harvest the entire plant by cutting close to the ground. Plant a second crop in late summer for a fall harvest.
