- Sun Preference
- Full-Sun
Description
Plump, dark roots with sweet, juicy flesh are perfect for canning, pickling, freezing and fresh use. Pick early for delicious baby beets. Tasty tops can be cooked or eaten raw in salads. Easy to grow.
Start beets outdoors in loose, well-drained soil in early spring or up to 6 weeks before first fall frost. Make a shallow trench about 1/2″ deep. Place seed tape in trench and cover firmly with soil. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth. Plant every two to three weeks for continuous harvest. Beets prefer cool weather and can tolerate mild frost.
