Description
Connecticut Field is the traditional American pumpkin, with a history that goes back several hundred years. Deep orange pumpkins grow to 15-25 lbs. and are perfect for pumpkin pie or carving.
Plant in full sun or partial shade in rich soil. Start outdoors about two weeks after last spring frost, or indoors two weeks prior to last frost date. Feed monthly with side dressings of compost or vegetable fertilizer. For best shaped pumpkins, set fruit upright while still young. Harvest when rinds are hard and bright orange. Leave a 3-4″ stem.
