Origanum, Greek Oregano 'True' Organic Heirloom
- Sun Preference
- Full-Sun
Description
Traditional Greek oregano, with the pungent aroma and spicy flavor that makes it a culinary favorite. Dark green leaves with aromatic white flowers that attract pollinators. Hardy and easy to grow.
Oregano seed is tiny and easiest to start indoors. Start in spring six to eight weeks before last frost date, and transplant seedlings in area with full sun two to four weeks after last frost when soil has warmed. Water consistently. Do not cover seeds. They need light to germinate. Harvest lightly the first season to allow plants to develop. Cut individual leaves anytime. Cut mature plant back to 4″ before it flowers to encourage new growth.
