- Full-Sun
Description
This spineless okra’s tender, pointed pods are favored for soups, stews, and pickling. Highly productive in hot summer weather. Plants are 4-6′ tall, with attractive blossoms that form the pods. It won an All America Selections award in 1939.
Plant outdoors in late spring after the soil has completely warmed. Start indoor three weeks before last frost date. Okra thrives in hot weather and fertile soil, with consistent light watering. Do not over water. Pick okra every two to three days, when pods reach about 2-4″ long. Older pods are tough.
