Cucumis, Melon 'Honeydew' Organic Heirloom
- Sun Preference
- Full-Sun
Description
A summertime favorite treasured for its pale green flesh and sweet, refreshing flavor. Produces four-to-six-pound fruits.
Melons prefer a warm location with sandy soil. Start outdoors about two weeks after last frost. For transplants, start about three weeks before last frost date. Do not disturb tender roots when transplanting. Keep plants evenly watered and fed during the growing season. Harvest when the blossom end softens, the stem end is slightly springy, and the skin begins to take on a creamy yellow/cream appearance. A beige honeydew with distinct green veins reveals immaturity.
