Allium, Leek 'American Flag' Organic Heirloom
- Sun Preference
- Full-Sun, Part-Sun
Description
Leeks have a delightful mild onion flavor that make the perfect seasoning for soups and stews. American Flag has an extra-long white stem and is easy to grow, like scallions.
Leeks prefer a fertile soil with regular water for best growth. They are shallow rooted, so keep them well weeded to prevent competition. Sow in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. Pull leek when its base is 1″ in circumference. Plant height 10″ tall.
