Allium, Leek 'American Flag'

- Sun Preference
- Full-Sun
Description
Leeks have a delightful mild onion flavor that makes the perfect seasoning for soups and stews. American Flag features an extra-long, thick, white stem and is easy to grow.
Sow in early spring as soon as soil can be worked. Leeks prefer full sun, fertile soil, and consistent water for best growth. Roots are shallow, so keep them well-weeded to prevent competition. Hill dirt up over the base of the plant during the growing season to increase the size of the white, edible portion. Do not cover the leaves.
Allium ampeloprasum
