Updates and Store Policy Changes

The health and safety of our customers and staff have been Gerten’s top priority throughout the pandemic, and we continue to monitor the latest guidance and recommendations from the CDC and the Governor’s office.
Following the CDC’s updated guidance, Gertens no longer requires shoppers or staff to wear masks or face coverings in our store or while on our grounds.
What We’re Doing to Help Keep You Safe
Gertens cares immensely about our customers, employees and products and we are evaluating the COVID-19 situation in real-time. As the well-being of our customers remains a top priority, we have adapted our business model to help customers have a safe and satisfactory shopping experience. These changes include:
- Dedicated in-house housekeeping staff keeping all high touch areas and bathrooms clean multiple times per day, 7 days a week.
- Regular wipe downs by staff of high touch areas.
- Re-spacing of flower, perennial, and shrub plant displays designed for safe distance shopping (indoors and outdoors).
- Addition of 14 new outdoor checkout stations, designed for non-congested spring shopping.
- Reconfigured credit card keypads for "no touch" credit and debit transactions.
- Gertens encourages our customers to use social distancing practices while shopping in store or while picking up curbside.
- Gertens strongly recommends all employees who are not fully vaccinated to wear masks while working in the Garden Center.
- All store events, vendor demonstrations and classes suspended until further notice.
- Online and Curbside pick-up options are expanding and being encouraged. Our team is working diligently to improve product lines for online shopping and streamlining processes for improved customer web and pick-up experience.

Gertens is continually monitoring COVID 19 updates and shopping patterns. We will continue to evolve our business model as needed to ensure the safety of our customers and our employees. We will update this page any time our policies change.
How To Use Gertens To Go:
While customers are still invited to shop our stores, we have worked hard to create two additional options for our you to safely shop, including our new curbside pickup option. We respectfully ask that all customers practice social distancing while shopping in store or while picking up curbside.
Buy Online and Ship Directly to Your Home
No need to leave your house! Browse our website and choose to have your order delivered right to your home. Note that delivery methods, costs, and timing vary by product type. You will either be asked to choose your shipping method during the product customization or on the checkout page.
Buy Online and Use Our Curbside Pickup
No need to get out of your car! Many of our products are available for Curbside Pickup including plants, fertilizer, mulch, bird seed, gifts, and more. Follow the three steps below to complete a Curbside Pickup order:
1. Simply use the navigation bar above to find the items you would like to buy and add each product to your cart. When checking out, choose curbside delivery as your delivery option. Note that some products require you to choose curbside pickup during the product customization step.
2. You will receive a confirmation email stating that Gertens received your order. Our team will then begin wrapping and bagging your order so that it is ready to load into your car.
We will email you a second time when your order is ready to be picked up. Insider tip: Plan ahead and order a day early to ensure we have your order ready in time for your project's needs.
3. After you receive an email stating your order is ready to be picked up, drive to our Inver Grove Heights location and follow the signs marked for Gertens To-Go Curbside Pick-up. Once you've arrived, one of our carryout team members will ask for your last name and will retreive and load your order into your car for you. Please also note that curbside pickup orders need to be picked up within 72 hours of receiving your confirmation email.
Please note that our Curbside Pickup center is open 10am to 2pm seven days a week.
