Zea, Sweet Corn (Late) 'Precious Gem' Hybrid
- Sun Preference
- Full-Sun
Description
Crisp and crunchy! Top-quality, 8-9 inch long ears are filled to the tip with a deliciously sweet combination of yellow and white kernels. An improved SE (sugar enhanced) variety. For the best flavor, cook or refrigerate immediately after picking.
Prefers fertile, well-drained soil and consistent moisture. Sow directly outdoors in full sun after last frost date when soil is completely warm, at least 65 degrees F (18 degrees C). For best pollination needed for well-filled ears, plant in blocks of at least four rows. Keep plants evenly moist. Harvest when the silk turns brown, the tip of the ear is filled out and the kernels spurt milky juice when punctured.
