Description
Solid round heads average two to four pounds with a deep-red color. Perfect for dressing up salads, slaws and relish trays. You can also steam or stir-fry this colorful vegetable. Red Acre is an early variety for summer harvest.
Start cabbage indoors four to six weeks before last frost date. Transplant in early spring after all danger of frost. Cabbage is shallow-rooted and needs a rich soil and even moisture for best growth. Split heads can be avoided by providing even moisture when heads are forming.
