Beta, Beet 'Chioggia' Organic Heirloom
- Sun Preference
- Part-Sun
Description
Chioggia is a very unique and tasty Italian heirloom beet. Distinctive red and white stripes and extra sweet flavor make it an interesting and rewarding variety to grow. Use cooked, pickled or raw.
Start beets outdoors in loose, well-drained soil in early spring as soon as soil can be worked, or up to six weeks before first fall frost. Firm soil over seeds and keep evenly moist until germination. Do not let soil crust over before young plants sprout. Plant every two to three weeks for continuous harvest. Keep soil evenly moist for best growth, easy harvest, and sweetest flavor.
