Phaseolus, Stringless Beans (Bush) 'Top Crop' Heirloom Value Pack
- Sun Preference
- Full-Sun
Description
Space-saving and prolific plants offer slender, stringless emerald-green pods. Meaty, flavorful taste served fresh. Top Crop is the best you can grow for freezing and canning. It was an All America Selections Gold Medal winner in 1950. Very disease resistant.
Plant in well-drained soil in late spring. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 75-95°F. Beans do not tolerate frost. Thinning is not normally necessary. Harvest early and often to increase yields. Bush beans sometimes form tendrils similar to pole beans. You can snip them off without harming the plant. Pick pods regularly just as they start to fill out for best flavor. Although bush beans continue to bear throughout the season, their best production comes in the first flush. Replant every three weeks through mid-summer for continuous harvest.
Phaseolus vulgaris
