Phaseolus, Bean (Bush) Contender 'Value Pack'

- Sun Preference
- Full-Sun, Part-Sun
Description
A real standout in areas with hot, humid summers where Contender’s disease resistance makes it a dependable favorite. Big yields of six-inch pods that are slightly curved, round, meaty and stringless. Great fresh, frozen and canned.
Plant in well-drained soil in late spring. Optimal soil temperature for germination is 75-95°F. Beans do not tolerate frost. Thinning is not normally necessary. Pick pods Just as they start to fill out for best flavor. Bush beans sometimes form tendrils similar to pole beans. You can snip them off without harming the plant. For best flavor, pick pods regularly just as they start to fill out. Although bush beans will continue to bear throughout the season, their largest production comes in the first flush. Replant every three weeks through midsummer for continuous harvest.
