Gertens Retail Plant Warranty

To honor Gertens Guaranteed To Grow Policy, we require the proof of purchase for the one-time replacement of plant material. The proof of purchase must include both your receipt and either the plant material or a clear photo of the plant. If your plant, tree, or shrub is too large to transport OR if you're unsure whether your plant is dead or not, you can also take a photo of it and send it to questions@gertens.com and we can help guide you on the best next steps. If you are signed up for our Customer Rewards Program you may not need your sales receipt as long as the purchase was made through your Rewards Customer account.

 

Once you provide the proof of purchase information, Gertens will provide a one-time replacement of plant material for retail purchases, according to the following parameters:

  • Nursery Plants such as trees, evergreens, shrubs, shrub roses, vines, & perennial plants are warrantied one year from date of purchase. Please remember that some plants are slower to break dormancy in the spring.
  • Roses: Hybrid Tea and Floribunda warrantied through the first frost of the current growing season when the plant was purchased. Roses are not warrantied over winter (noted on receipt).
  • Annuals: Satisfaction is guaranteed for the entirety of the current growing season under proper care. 
  • Houseplants: Satisfaction is guaranteed for 60 days under proper care.

Notes & reminders about our plant warranty: 

  • Unplanted Plant Material can be returned or exchanged within one week of purchase if it's in good condition and has never removed from its original container.
  • Plants damaged from animals, frost, snow, wind or other damaging weather conditions are not covered by the Gerten Plant Warranty and Return Policy. 
  • It is important to remember that plants are perishable items, needing watering and care.  Both planted and unplanted plant material that are damaged from lack of proper care may not be covered by Gertens Plant Warranty and Return Policy.
  • All clearance plants are final sale and no returns or adjustments can be made.

In-Store Return Policy

For purchases of regularly-priced hard good items, Gertens allows a 30-day return or exchange with receipt.

  • When making an in-store return or exchange, please bring your receipt and product with you to ensure a speedy return. If you are signed up for our Customer Rewards Program you may not need your sales receipt as long as the purchase was made through your Rewards Customer account.
  • No adjustments can be made on any sale prices.
  • All clearance sales are final and cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • For items returned that were paid for by check, there is a ten day waiting period, however an "in-store credit" or a "check sent in the mail" for the amount of the refund is available.
  • For some returns, Gertens reserves the right to issue a check for returned merchandise.

Gift Shop Return Policy

For any purchases made in our gift shop, please note the additional return policies below:

  • All of the collectible lines must have a receipt for a return or exchange. This includes Department 56 Villages, Snowbabies, Snowbunnies, Byer's Choice, Willow Tree, Thymes, Vera Bradley, Mrs. Myer’s, Caldrea, and all other collectibles available in the Gift Shop
  • No returns or exchanges on Christopher Radko merchandise.
  • No returns or exchanges on any unopened or opened puzzles or games.

Grill Return Policy

For any purchases of Grills or Grill Accessories made both in-store or online, please note the return policies below:

  • Only items in new, unused and in their original packaging will be eligible for a full refund. 
  • A return can be processed within 15 days from the purchase date at no charge or up to 30 days with a 15% restocking fee based on the purchase price.
  • After 30 Days, returns will NOT be accepted.
  • Grills include a manufacturer warranty and subject to the terms and conditions of that warranty.
  • Any grill that has been started up or used in anyway, CANNOT be returned.

Furniture Return Policy

For any purchases of Furniture and Furniture Sets made both in-store or online, please note the return policies below:

  • Only items in new, unused, and resalable condition will be eligible for return.
  • New, unused furniture may be returned within 7 days of receipt. Gertens charges a re-stocking fee of 15% of the purchase price on returned furniture. After 7 days, returns will NOT be accepted.
  • If a furniture order is delivered damaged or incomplete, or is in need of replacement parts, contact Customer Support at info@gertens.com within 7 days of receipt for a resolution.

  • For warranty issues unrelated to initial delivery from Gertens, please contact the manufacturer.

Artificial Christmas Tree Return Policy

Only unopened Artificial Christmas Tree boxes may be returned within 7 days of receipt. There is a restock fee on returned boxes.

Gertens.com Online Shipping & Return Policies

Prices and availability of the products and services listed on the site are subject to change without notice. The listing, description of, or reference to, a product or service on gertens.com  does not imply that the product or service is presently available. In the event a product or service is listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error, error in pricing information received from a supplier or any other reason, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any order placed for such product or service at the incorrect price, even if the order has been confirmed and/or your credit card has been charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, we shall promptly issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the incorrect price.

 

Order Acceptance:

Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. We reserve the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept or decline your order for any reason.

 

Shipping Rules and Restrictions:

We ship to street addresses in all 50 states. We're sorry, but we do not ship to PO Boxes, or international addresses, including Canada, APO/FPO addresses, US Protectorates (Guam, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands).

We process orders to ship Monday - Friday, excluding United States federal holidays.

Gertens.com is able to ship to one shipping address per order. If you'd like to ship to multiple addresses, please place a separate order for each unique address.

 

Order and Shipping Confirmation E-mails:

When your order is received, we'll send you an e-mail confirming your order. Then, when your order is shipped, we'll send you a shipment confirmation.

 

Payment:

You are responsible for any payments due for any products or services ordered through your account. If we do not receive payment from your credit issuer or its agents, you agree to pay all amounts due to us. You shall also be responsible for any costs of collection of overdue payment.

 

Sales Tax:

We are required by law to charge applicable sales tax on products shipped within the State of Minnesota.

 

Online Returns:

We guarantee your satisfaction with all Gertens merchandise. If you are within 30 days from the date your product was delivered, you may return non-plant products purchased online for a merchandise exchange, credit, or a full refund of the purchase price (minus shipping and handling charges). For non-damaged or defective items, you may be charged return shipping or handling fee.

If you receive a damaged or defective item, we will promptly send you a replacement or issue you a full refund after you have returned the damaged or defective product. You will not be charged any additional shipping or handling fees for replacement of such damaged or defective shipments.

 

We're sorry, but we cannot accept returns on:

  • Gift Cards
  • Opened boxes of Artificial Christmas Trees (No later than December 25th)
  • Clearance Items
  • For online plant purchases, the Plant Warranty at the top of this page applies.

Please include the following information with your return: indicate whether you want a return or replacement, the reason for the return, a description of the item you are returning, and its price.

If you're returning the product because we made an error, call us at 1-866-GERTENS and we'll schedule a delivery pickup and cover the cost of shipping.

 

Exchanges

You can exchange your returned item for another of equal value at Gertens store or by sending it back in the mail. If you'd like to exchange the item for one that costs more, we'll charge your credit card for the difference.
