Description
Aster, also called China Aster, is a favorite cut flower, noted for its strong stems and brightly colored blossoms. Powderpuff Asters have lovely ruffled flower petals in shades of white, pink, red and purple; all with sunny yellow centers.
Select a location with full sun and well drained soil. May be started indoors about six weeks before last spring frost. Water regularly until plants are established. Cut back on watering as plants mature. Keep flowers cut regularly to encourage more blossoms. Rotate planting each year to avoid Aster disease problems.
