Fall is that time of year when even the most unromantic gardener finds heart in the harvest season. Late September is a perfect time to transform your garden or entry way into an inviting area that is alive with a warm Autumn glow.
For this look we are going to try something a little different than the fall mum and pansy look. Instead we are going to let seasonal branches, fresh squash and perennials take the main stage to create a very warm look for your containers.
You will need urn shaped containers and a good quality potting soil, like Professional Mix.

Fresh branches used:
And of course, Seasonal Squash.
Pot your perennials using a mix of upright and trailing varieties. Even though they will not winter in the container, they do take frost extremely well and add a very different look. Next, layer in fresh branches to highlight and add color. Finally we will layer in some fresh squash to highlight planters.
Have fun making up your containers and enjoy the crisp mornings and the sparkle of frost on your Harvest planters.
